Tyler Joseph Reveals Jack White Sent Him Special Gift And Encouraging Note

It looks like we have a new favorite friendship in the alt world: twenty one pilots' Tyler Joseph and The Raconteurs' Jack White.

On Tuesday (January 21), the twenty one pilots frontman took to Twitter to praise White after receiving a gift from the rocker. “Jack White just sent me some guitar pedals and a selection of vinyls from @thirdmanrecords,” Joseph tweeted.

But it may have been the note inside that was the best keepsake. “His note encouraged me to stay inspired,” he wrote. “One of the cooler things to happen to me through music.” TBH, I'd totally frame that… just saying.

Just last summer, White complimented twenty one pilots giving the band praise for its songwriting and performances. "I love what they’re doing," he said of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun. "First time I saw them was on Saturday Night Live. And I thought 'Oh, that’s really great. Another really cool two piece band that can do something really powerful.' I liked what they were doing, playing piano and bass, that guy, the lead singer. And it was strong."

As for twenty one pilots, the band has included an interlude of The White Stripes' smash hit “'Seven Nation Army” in their live shows that showcase Dun's incredible drum skills.

Twenty one pilots' isn't the only alt act to catch White's eye. Billie Eilish performed a stripped down set in The Blue Room at White's Third Man Records.

The twenty one pilots singer is currently not too far from welcoming his first child, a daughter, with his wife Jenna!
