Coldplay Donate Signed Guitar To Help Raise Money For Primary School

Coldplay are in the giving spirit this year. The band donated a Fender guitar signed by each member (Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion) to help raise money for Swell Co of E Primary School in the North Cotswolds, a rural area of England. The gift is part of the school's fundraiser, “A Swell Christmas Raffle,” and though its specific to the UK, anyone from around the world is able to buy tickets for £1 a piece. At time of writing, 20,000 tickets have been purchased. Aside from the guitar, other prizes include a Peloton exercise bike, BMW city scooter, and a number of gift cards for local restaurants, shops, and experiences.

“Being such a small village school, we’re really quite limited when it comes to fundraising, yet our children still require and deserve an enriched education, like any other school in the country," Nadia Moule, vice chairman for Friends Of Swell School, said in a statement. “That’s why we set out to make Christmas 2020 really special. We are overwhelmed by the kindness of local businesses and supporters, and hope their generosity is rewarded by raising record funds.”
