The Black Keys release 20th anniversary vinyl recording of first live show

The Black Keys are releasing a vinyl recording of their first-ever live show in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

The performance took place March 31, 2002 at the Beachland Tavern in Cleveland, some 40 minutes away from where Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney formed The Black Keys in Akron, Ohio.

The limited-edition vinyl will be released November 18.

A couple months after that first show, The Black Keys released their debut album, The Big Come Up. After putting out several records on independent labels and building a following in the indie scene, the duo broke through commercially with 2010’s Brothers, turning them into arena headliners and rock radio staples.

The Black Keys’ most recent album is this year’s Dropout Boogie, which dropped in May.
