My Chemical Romance fans noticed some bizarre activity coming from the band's Facebook page over the weekend, which left them scratching their heads and wondering if it was all part of some strange publicity scheme or if the account got hacked. Turns out, it was the latter.
"Our Facebook got hacked....so....don't believe everything you read!" MCR wrote on their Instagram, turning off comments on the post.
Even though fans were really hoping another reunion could be in the works, it's no surprise their account got hacked. The posts, which were a series of conservative news stories, were truly off-brand for the band.

MCR finally embarked on a reunion tour in 2022 after Covid derailed their original plans. In May 2022, they released "Foundations of Decay," their first new music since 2014, and fans have been hoping for new album ever since. MCR's last studio album was 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys; however, they also released a compilation album called Conventional Weapons before breaking up in 2013.
When they initially broke up, Gerard Way had this to say: “I think because it was so special and it was such an amazing thing… to keep going and let it rust out on the rails? That was not the way that band was supposed to go out.”
"I think we’re all pretty upset,” he continued, referring to his bandmates. “It wasn’t an easy thing to come to. It was sad, because it wasn’t a situation where anybody hated each other. It was nobody’s fault.”
