Jakob Nowell, the son of the late Bradley Nowell of Sublime, celebrated his 27th birthday last weekend (June 25th) by covering his dad's music for the first time. He was backed by members of the Sublime tribute band Burritos at Alex's Bar in Long Beach, California.
The show was a fundraiser for the Nowell Family Foundation, which offers addiction recovery services to members of the music community. They are currently working to open Bradley’s House, a six-bed recovery facility that will provide treatment regardless of the client's financial situation. Bradley's sister Kellie, Jakob's aunt, is the foundation's executive director.
Jakob, who normally fronts a group called Law, even broke out his dad's old guitar during the 45-minute performance
